FAQs
It's made from a backing material (often paper) which is coated in an adhesive. The adhesive is pressure-sensitive and doesn't need activating with water, heat or a solvent like some other tapes. This means you can use self adhesive tape straight out of the box.
Self adhesive tape can safely secure a package of up to 10kg but only under certain conditions. In reality, its strength will depend on the type of box used, the contents of the box, how the tape is applied and how the tape has been stored. Because there are so many variables, we can't guarantee that all self adhesive tape will secure 10kg.
For anything heavier, we recommend gummed tape.
A standard tape dispenser is the easiest and fastest way to apply self adhesive tape. Or you can apply it by hand.
Self adhesive tape isn't recyclable on its own as it uses a laminated layer to secure any ink. To avoid contaminating waste streams, dispose of it with general waste.
It can, however, be recycled when adhered to paper-based packaging that is also recyclable, unless the weight of the tape is more than 20% of the total package weight.
Store your self adhesive tape in an environment that's 17°C or warmer. And keep it away from any UV light exposure as this can weaken the adhesive. Learn more
